Daniel N. Weiss, M.D., F.A.C.C. Joins Scientific Advisory Board

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA — September 22, 2003 — VICOR TECHNOLOGIES, INC. ("Vicor" or "the Company") today announced Daniel N. Weiss, M.D., F.A.C.C. has joined Vicor's Scientific Advisory Board and has become a consultant to the Company.

Daniel N. Weiss, M.D., F.A.C.C., a member of Florida Arrhythmia Consultants since 1994, is a clinical electrophysiologist. He also serves as a consultant to Fortune 500 Medical Device companies including Guidant, St. Jude and Medtronics. He has been an investigator for both the MADIT II (MultiCenter Automatic Defibrillator Implantation Trial) and SCDHeFT (Sudden Cardiac Death Heart Failure Trial). Dr. Weiss is a cum laude graduate of Princeton University with a BSE in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He received his Medical Degree with Distinction in Research from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he also received the Nathan A. Setz Award for Research in Cardiovascular and Renal Disease.
